
Agnes L. Maus, age 87 of Melrose, died peacefully on Sunday, March 5, 2017 at the CentraCare Health Nursing Home in Melrose, Minn.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, March 9 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in New Munich with Rev. Marvin Enneking officiating and Rev. Ken Thielman concelebrating. Interment will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery in Melrose following the service.
Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday and from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the Patton-Schad Funeral Home in Melrose. Parish prayers will be at 5 p.m. followed by the Christian Mothers and Sts. Bernard and Elizabeth Council at 7 p.m. Wednesday evening at the funeral home.
Agnes Loretta
Uphoff was born Jan. 21, 1930 in Spring Hill Township, Stearns County to Joseph and Elizabeth (Wiebolt) Uphoff. On June 13, 1950, she married Raymond Maus at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in New Munich. Agnes lived in the same house for 65 years before moving to the Tree of Life in New Munich. Shortly after that she became a resident at Pine Villa Care Center in Melrose. She enjoyed sewing, gardening, playing cards, search word books, baking and canning. She also enjoyed traveling and most of all, spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Christian Mothers, and Sts. Bernard and Elizabeth Council.
Survivors include her children, Susan (Pat) Branyon of Plymouth, Mary Kay (Michael)
Jorgenson of Golden Valley, Robert (Kriste) Maus of Monticello, Amy (Rick) Rieland of Melrose and Paul (Anne) Maus of Melrose; daughter-in-law, Vickie Maus of Brooklyn Park; 17 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Agnes was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Ray Maus on Sept. 28, 2007; son, Ron Maus on March 13, 2012; brothers,
Raymond, Alfred, and Sylverius Uphoff; and sisters, Sally Klaphake and Marie Rademacher.
Serving as casket bearers will be Bob Maus, Paul Maus, Sara Baltes, Pat Branyon, Mike Jorgenson and Rick Rieland. Cross bearer will be Erin Paquette and scripture bearer will be Nathan Maus. Reader will be Anne Maus. Gift bearers will be Joann Ritter and Edna Goebel.
