Anthony S. “Tony” Meyer

Anthony S. “Tony” Meyer, age 82 of Swan Lake near Burtrum, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Monday, July 6, 2015, at the St. Cloud Hospital in St. Cloud.

A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial was held at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 11 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Grey Eagle with Rev. Ronald Dockendorf officiating and with a eulogy being read 5 minutes prior to the Mass. A private inurnment will take place at a later date at St. Patrick’s Cemetery in Melrose. Military honors were provided by the Melrose Veterans Honor Guard.

Anthony Steven Meyer was born Feb. 3, 1933, in Meire Grove to Anton and Ann
(Waldherr) Meyer. He grew up in Grey Eagle and enlisted in the National Guard and later joined the Army. He married Carol in 1957 and they lived in Brooklyn Park for most of their married years. After retiring from H. Brooks and Co., they built a home on Swan Lake in 2007.

Tony was an avid outdoorsman; he loved fishing, hunting, and cooking. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, and always made them a priority in his life. “I am incredibly blessed to have shared so many years with my best friend. He was the one I always leaned on and I am forever grateful for all of the memories we have shared. Love always, Carol.” 

Grateful for having shared his life are his loving wife of 57 years, Carol (Vogel); children, Steve Meyer, Toni (Tim) Baldwin, Scott (Brenda) Meyer, Terry (Shelly) Meyer, and Troy (Deanna)Meyer; grandchildren, Tim (Sarah), Stefanie (Moises), Nicole, Mike, Matt, Amanda, Christopher, Abby, Carolyn, Emily, Kailey, and Layne; great-grandchildren, Riley, Madison, Alex, Elizebeth, Joshua, Sofie, and Lucy; sisters, Rosemary Kalkman, Dorothy Slimmer, Rita Meyer, and Joanne Rutter; and many more family and special friends.

Tony was preceded in death by his daughter, Sandra Kay Meyer;
parents, Anton and Ann (Waldherr) Meyer; brother, Dennis Meyer; grandchildren, Joseph Lee Moody, Joshua
Russell Baldwin and
Anthony Adrian Meyer.

Serving as urn bearers were Steve, Scott, Terry and Troy Meyer. Cross bearer was Toni Jean Baldwin and scripture bearer was Stefanie
Maldonado. Eulogy was read by Kailey Meyer. Readers were Carolyn Meyer and Kailey 

Meyer. Gift bearers were Stefanie 

Maldonado, Matt Moody, Abby
Meyer, Emily Meyer, and Layne Meyer.

Arrangements were made with Patton-Schad Funeral & Cremation Services of Grey Eagle.
